"Tangled Ivy" is now done!

I've decided to put "Song of the Timeless" on hold for the time being. Episode 17 of Battle Dimension only cast up more questions with regards to certain plot points and I figured it better to wait until I see what the anime does before writing SOTT any more.

As for the up and coming anniversary, I have various ideas for promos and such, hopefully I can bring some to fruition before November. I'll keep you lot posted.

Catch you later, Pokefans!

~Gemma -aka- C.A.A.T

I decided to re-record a songfic from Rose's POV that I first did five years ago. You can listen to it in the Media Vault ^-^

Been a bit unwell lately with who-knows-what, but have been trying to get 'Tangled Ivy' made, amongst other things. Our art competition is picking up pace a little - now have three entries, but with barely a little over two weeks left you'd better think about getting your work in quick.

Check out the Art Gallery journal for more details.

Catch you later, Pokefans!

~Gemma -aka- C.A.A.T

Sit Down, You're Rocking the PokeFloat.

First and foremost, the rough news for fandom.

Okay, now onto the other stuff!

Episode 17 of Battle Dimension is certainly showing up some major plotjuiciness which will likely have an effect on how I continue to write "Song of the Timeless". As such, I'm pausing SOTT until I get to see that particular eppy.

So I got to watch eps 13 and 14 yesterday...they attempted to make Butch sound more like he did back in the 4Kids dub with some success...though I don't know why they didn't just get Bill Rogers to do it - he did a perfect Butch without meaning to back in the Mirage Master special!

Maylene's voice was certainly interesting though...aside from "Twin Signal", I'd not heard Rachael play a nervous-sounding character before. It was neat =D

Anyone else think there was a little bit of irony in the dialogue of Team Rocket's motto? "The meeting of the old with the new" rather seemed like a hint at the VAs, but maybe I'm looking into this stuff too deeply, as I always do ;D

Still, it did remind me of the line in one of the Battle Frontier eps against Noland and Articuno, "Devotees should not be treated this way!", which I couldn't help think of as a hint at Pokemon fans and possibly even the long-term VAs themselves (curiously enough, both this line and the one in ep14 were spoken by James).

Also, I noticed they're holding back the Pokemon Ranger episodes until the Ranger game is released in America. I'm not too fussed about that (it means I get to see that Jess-centric episode I wanted for "Getting Technical" purposes) but I'm wondering if, as a result, I should pinpoint on the map the events of the episodes occurring as they happened in the Japanese roster or stick to the US one, regardless of it being shown out of order?

As for Rebirth-related news, the world map on the Rebirpedia is pretty much done, including an article for Phrossa at last! Also, a few character bios have had minor adjustments.

Catch you later, Pokefans!

~Gemma -aka- C.A.A.T

Sooo Tim and I have been starting to give thought to this year's anniversary celebrations. Pokemon Rebirth is gonna be 7! Can you believe it? Time sure flies.

In the meantime I've been doing further work to the Rebirpedia - fixing various broken links I've passed, adding new articles (one on the Guardsmen and Jaye's Gorgon Cannon, just as a passing mention) and updating the world map with Johto.

With scene 18 of Outcast Hero's animatic under my belt, I'm hoping to take a little break with work on "Blank Pages", "Song of the Timeless" or "Getting Technical."

Don't forget the art contest is still running at the art gallery, with less than a month to go.

Catch you later, Pokefans!

~Gemma -aka- C.A.A.T

Under the Surface

Maybe I should redo the banner of this thing to read something else - I've rather been using it as a general Pokemon related blog spot while I work on finishing up Rebirth materials ^-^;

As observant ones among you will have noticed, the splash page and main page have been given the once over. Both are are now looking pleasing to me (at least for the next few months, e-heh). This leads me to my next thought which came to me while I was searching for affiliates.

---SITE LAYOUTS

Why, oh WHY do a lot of Pokemon fansite webmasters go about using the self same page design layout as many other webmasters? It's bad enough that they're all pretty much shelling out the same news/info content these days, but to have them all look identical as well...

...it's like clonesville! Variation doesn't equal unprofessionality, y'know. And giving your website the same narrow three-column job with the tiny writing won't instananeously make it awesome.

I have nothing against tables or columns (well I use them on here) and this isn't a jab at any specific websites, hence me not linking any of them. If you've trekked through the Pokemon fansite scene lately hopefully you'll know what page design trait I'm on about. But seriously...show a little more imagination, guys.

--- SOVA?

Additionally, if you scroll down a bit you'll see logo for SOVA Gen 2 on the left. What with hearing about more of the old VAs returning to the Pokemon anime scene, I thought I'd finally put that up.

Confused as to what SOVA Gen 2 is? Click here and read my thoughts!

--- NEW AFFIE

We also have a new affiliate in the form of "We All Live In A Pokemon World." Not only that being a line from one of my fave Pokemon anime season openings (oop, my inner Tracey fangirl is showing) but the site itself contains some great info to disperse the ignorance of the franchise. If that wasn't good enough, the webmistress of WALIAPW proved to be quite familiar with Pokemon Rebirth. Guess there are more people with their eyes on this place than I thought!

On my final note, the script to "Tangled Ivy" has been written and I hope to draw it up soon.

Catch you later, Pokefans!

~ Gemma -aka- C.A.A.T

11th Movie, 12th Movie?!? Old Voices? Groovy.

Curious battle trilogy the Pokemon guys have planned, huh?

Also, hearing another familiar voice (Dan Green) back on the Pokemon team doing various cameo parts was quite heartwarming. Check the "Bibarel Gnaws Best" ep and see if you can recognize who he's voicing ^-^

Maybe this is a slow re-integration of the familiar with the new(ish). I've grown to love the current voice team in their own way, but to have the 'veterans' back in their positions (or at least Meowth, haha) would make me squeal like the fangirl I am. It's a very very VERY long shot, of course. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

On a random note, I wonder if Jimmy Zoppi has been enjoying taking command of two main characters and one main-ish character...

---

In my constant quest to make this website less confusing to navigate, I have split the written story sections into three parts.

Series - Naturally the biggest department considering of multiple 'episodes' under one title. It's usually best to start reading here.

Special Episodes - Too long to be called shorts but too short to have their own series. Special episodes consist of several chapters which, put together, would probably end up as a double or triple episode run.

Shorts - These are stories that patch the cracks. They don't tend to last more than a chapter.

Additionally, I have linked up the fiction shorts "Ignorance Dismissed" and "Trials of an Errand Boy" which I wrote a while back. Also added links to "Altered Paths", "Ultimatum" and "Darkness Revealed" linking them all to eachother with pointers to make sure readers tackle them in the right order. The others can technically be read in whatever order is desired by the visitor.

THE COMPETITION CONTINUES! Thanks to Tim, entrants in Europe and America have a chance to win Pokemon Snap for the Wii Virtual Console as one of the prizes. Feeling arty? Check out the details.

Just to let you know, I am still working on the Rebirpedia and "Blank Pages" (and "Song of the Timeless"). Primary focus on the 'pedia is getting the map back in good working order.

Catch ya Later, Pokefans!

~Gemma -aka- C.A.A.T

Looking Up, Branching Out

Following some discussion and words of encouragement, (thanks for those!) things continue. With some help from friends, I've figured ways to increase interest in Rebirth, via the Sequentia series.

The written fiction department is all well and good if you're an English speaking person that loves to read, but for others this can be difficult. Future plans include providing issues of Chronicles : Sequentia in multiple languages. It's going to be a big undertaking, but I think it'd really help spread knowledge of the project.

There'll still be written stuff, because both Tim and I love to do descriptive writing now and then.

Check out the FAQ for some updates at the bottom. Additionally, I have altered the Art Gallery so it includes a supporters list instead of a membership list. In other words, contributions are open to everyone! And the current contest runs until the 5th of September.

Catch you Later, Pokefans!

- Gemma ~aka~ C.A.A.T

Times Are Tough

This post is gonna be a bit ranty, just as a warning.

It's a hard life for a Pokemon fanfiction project in terms of trying to survive in a fandom world of news sites that all seem to report the same thing and keep in a strict clique with one another.

They expect you to have a high visitor count to affiliate with them, yet if you're not allowed a chance to affiliate and get noticed by Pokemon fans, how do they suppose you're going to get that kind of visitor count?

A catch 22 which kinda sucks.

Back when Pokemon fansites of all kinds were in abundance, it was easier to network and get a little more exposure. Now that most fans have abandoned their sites, all that's left is news and the odd person like myself who's just trying to bring a little creative edge to things.

All the more reason I'm very glad for Jolt letting me have Pokemon Rebirth linked with The Pokemon Tower - but it would be nice to get a bit of acknowledgement at other popular sites, too. Or some feedback, y'know? A little sign that Tim and my efforts aren't being entirely overlooked by the Pokemon fandom...

That's all for now. I'm still planning out "Blank Pages" and have done 36 pages of it so far. Also, the summer contest is still running at the art gallery. You don't have to have a DA account to enter - just e-mail me your entries and I'll post them up on the gallery for you. Same goes for fan art, just so you know. ^-^

Catch you later, Pokefans!

~Gemma -aka- C.A.A.T
