It’s been a while
It’s been so long, I’ve forgotten how to smile
I’m losing scope, it all seems so grey
A part of me collapsed when you turned me away
Can’t you accept the way I am?
I know its hard, looking at a friend
Seeing how he’s changed, thinking it’s the end
S’only on the outside, on the inside I’m the same
All those memories, fears and happiness
And that inner burning pain
Can’t you accept the way I am?
It’s been so long
Deep inside, I’d convinced me I was strong
Sharing lives, with those who couldn’t see
Just the kind of human being I was meant to be
Can’t you accept the way I am?
Can’t you accept the way I am?
