Sinnoh
[sin-oh]
is a standalone, heavily mountainous continent located in the northern
hemisphere. It is the birthplace of Pokémon Contests, center of fashion, origin of culinary delights such as the Poffin, Minerol and
Oreburgers and widely-known for its
rather eccentric take on life.
It is unique in the sense that it appears to
be the only region not to have been formed as a result of
The Divergence. This may account
for its high culmination of Pokémon fossils and precious stones - levels
of which are some of the highest in the world. Due to this, there is an
extensive organization dedicated to the mining and salvaging of these
materials.
On a more notable level, Sinnoh appears to
be a very spiritual region and is heavily in touch with its roots.
However, much of the historical information its people cling to has been
warped as a result of passing years and over-speculation. Over time, the
inhabitants became confused as to whom to give their thanks, and many
different powerful Pokémon have ended up being wrongly worshipped as a
result.
The prevalence of curious Pokémon species
can be traced down to one particular incident in Sinnoh's past where,
during one of the most recent
Generation Rites, the Sinnoh Nexus
was not present due to unknown reasons. As a result, data for Pokémon
creation was gathered from the younger brother of this Nexus.
