Abaphys (Japanese: Mamigi) is a genetically enhanced Psychic/Sound type Pokémon created by Team Rocket. Its gene bases are Phione and Wobbuffet.

Abaphys has a very warm-hearted temperament and only wishes to make friends, but since any attempts at speech result in swapping the minds of others, it has only managed to cause chaos in its wake. As a result, it spent the early part of its time in the wild panicking and crying, thus exacerbating its loneliness.

Isolating and amplifying the psywave capabilities of subject AB-P4Y5 has resulted in its ability to only generate this specific wave during communication. Psywaves affect all beings within a hundred meter radius, shifting the minds of those targeted into other bodies.

Durability testing has proved very satisfactory. The subject is able to handle most physical impacts with little sign of damage. Further research is needed to incorporate this durability into the designs of other subjects.
