Pokédex Initiated Pokéball Exchange System

From Rebirpedia, the Pokémon Rebirth encyclopaedia.

The Pokédex Initiated Pokéball Exchange System is a unique sub-network of the PMI. It allows its users to switch any of the six Pokémon in their party with another, regardless of their location - ruling out the need to visit a Pokémon Center in order to access Pokéball storage. This process is achieved using specially-customized devices, most frequently Pokédexes, hence the network's title.

Access to receiving Pokéballs via the Transport protocol as well as sending them, is limited due to the additional resources required to allow PIPES to operate. As such, those who have access to PIPES-enabled devices are limited to Pokémon Guardsmen, Professors, Gym Leaders and members of the Emergency Services.
