Magilia was a term used to describe Pokémon in the time before
portable capture devices were invented. It is a portmanteau of 'Magic
Animalia' and helped to define these elementally-endowed beasts from others. 'Magical Creatures' was also a term derived from this.
These terms began to disappear from the
Ocian language in the decades following the 1930s, after the mass-production of the Pokéball. |
