The muscles within the irises of people
with Opticus Penetra are arranged in such a way, that it appears as a
swirl-like pattern from a short distance. When these muscles work to
expand and contract the pupils, it warps the vision of the sufferer.
Treatments
Glasses with specially-designed lenses have
been created to help counteract the effects of Opticus Penetra. The
surface of the lenses is carved with a swirl pattern that runs the
opposite way to the muscle pattern on the eyes of the sufferer, thus
countering the visual disturbances.
Research
While most people only think of Opticus
Penetra as detrimental, the condition has also helped scientists to better
understand the workings of
Ultraspace and different types of concealment shields.
