Azima Kenedith is the Wichour Town Gym leader and an ex-Sanguine Alliance member. A highly-strung and sullen-faced woman with a strong knowledge of Pokéworld lore, Azima wears the torn remnants of her uniform as a reminder never to return to the organization's ways, and rarely ventures outside her gym. In turn, very few people venture inside, as Wichour Town Gym is not recognized as part of the Tatto Expedition. This is the result of the stigma placed upon Dark Type Pokémon, and even Azima herself. Much history, advice and warnings await those who enter within the gym's walls.

Azima is no stranger to dimensional anomalies, having befriended and trained alongside a Diguard at one point. Guilty over the acts she committed while in the Sanguine Alliance, Azima feels it her responsibility to show the good in Dark Type Pokémon and to watch and protect Wichour Town - to make sure it is free of Ghost Type Pokémon influence. She gives the Spectrus Medal to those who challenge her and win.
