Bond Phenomena

From Rebirpedia, the Pokémon Rebirth encyclopaedia.

Bond Phenomena is the term given to events which occur as a result of the connection between a Linked human and pokémon. As the potency of trust between the two, and their ability to work in sync increase, pokémon move strength and resilience increase in turn.

While it is somewhat easier to unlock bond phenomena for those with Cho'moken or Kakureiro, artificial methods have also been developed for those without these abilities to achieve the same results.

ZENITH MOVES

A moderately strong bond between human and pokémon opens the way to unleash a Zenith move - a powerful attack that draws from both the human and pokémon's Aura reserves. The strain of these moves are as such that they can only be used rarely.

SYNCHROFORMS

When the bond between human and pokémon is at its strongest and most synchronised, the pokémon taps into a hidden ability and temporarily gains an enhanced form. As this form is only accessible during periods of high adrenaline, it typically shows up during battle. These forms are not to be confused with that of 'formes', which are accessible to certain species of pokémon without human involvement.

Accessing this form creates a heightened connection between the human and pokémon similar to a psychic one. The human is capable of feeling the pokémon's exhaustion and pain during this time, as well as seeing what it is seeing. It is considered by researchers to be the closest a human and pokémon can be without physically fusing. It also carries its risks, as a greater level of strain is placed upon both human and pokémon during this time.
