Johto [Jo-toh] is one half of the largest dual continent in the world. It bears historical links with the legendary Pokémon Ho-oh and is location to many intriguing bodies of water from which the roots of historical importance drew nourishment. The Pokémon Watchers' Guild was also founded here.
Towns and Cities
1 - New Bark Town: Home to Professor Elm's lab.
2 - Florando: Home to the Pokemon Exhibition, an event where a number of talented performers, both human and Pokemon, put on live shows as entertainment.
3 - Catallia City: A town recognized for its magnificent buildings. Also holds the legend of The Black Arachnid, a powerful criminal amongst the town who was successfully captured by the original 'Officer Jenny', and her Spinarak. This is why the Police Force in Catallia only use Spinarak.
4 - Palm Hills: Famous for its sprawling estates and sweeping lawns. Palm Hills is a home for the wealthy.
5 - ShikaVille: Known for its abundance of Stantler living in the nearby parks.
6 - Cherrygrove City: A place with strict Quagsire laws. In the early part of the year the Quagsire will collect something round and take it up the river to the waterfall where they will compete in seeing who can throw their object the highest.
7 - Happy Town:
This town's Pokemon Center's head Pokemon is a Blissey.
8 - Violet City: Home of the Sprout Tower and Falkner's flying Pokemon Gym.
9 - Lakeside: A quiet getaway from the outside world, Lakeside has very little houses.
10 - Bloomingdale: Location of the Sunflora Festival.
11 - Pirelli: Home to a nurse Joy who specialises in Pokemon psychology.
12 - MarvelWood: Home to a toy store owner who is young at heart and has a passion for living the life of a superhero he calls Gligarman.
13 - Azalea Town: Home to Bugsy's bug Pokemon Gym. Kurt, the custom Pokeball maker also lives here.
14 - Palmpona: Pokemon trading festivals take place at this seaside town on an annual basis. One can also join the Tauros endurance run for a chance to win a trophy.
15 - Niwan Town: The location of the best emergency service in Johto, the Pokemon Fire and Rescue Squad.
16 - Goldenrod City: Home to Whitney's normal type Pokemon Gym. Made most famous by its revolutionary magnet train system, a network the constructors would dearly like to expand but often come into conflict with the environment-conscious Agrarian Seers.
17 - Firclass City: Home to the Pidgey Express, Malachy trains the Pidgey in his care to deliver mail across the country.
18 - Bonitaville : Pokemon Breeder country.
19 - Pacifus Village: Also known as "Wobbuffet Village" due to the prevelance of the species. Almost every inhabitant of Pacifus Village lives with a Wobbuffet in their care, and the culture of resilience and 'not attacking unless attacked' has spread throughout.
20 - Fragma Town: Beautiful stained glass windows.
21 - Ecruteak City: Location of Morty's Ghost
Pokémon Gym. Ho-Oh was once said to roost in a tower here, until an ancient rebellion by humans against the guardian
Pokémon forced it to leave, and also destroyed the tower. The tower's four
crystal and thirty two metal bells were hung back in the restored structure, but
have never rung, except in one
instance when the crystal bells were stolen. The woodland Pokemon living in the
area around Ectruteak are influenced by the Aura present in the tower.
22 - Nokotch Village: An old mining location that once prospered on the Dunsparce's ability to find rare minerals. The mining business tapered out once the minerals ran dry, though the inhabitants of the village still treasure the Dunsparce that live there.

24 - Rixie Town: A place of old-fashioned architecture and the location of Pokémon Sumo competitions, in which Pokemon simply use their strength and not their attacks to get the upper hand.
25 - Triador: At the furthest western point of Johto lives a man that can apparently communicate with Pokémon. No one is completely sure if this is true, but many crooks have been charging people obscene prices for a similar service.
26 - Whitestone: Aptly named due to its buildings having all been painted white, thus giving the impression of having been constructed from marble. Whitestone also has its own art gallery.
27 - Predica Village: Fortune telling Natu.
28 - Yorkyln: Not as prestigious or well known as Hollywood, but getting there.
29 - Olivine City: Home to Jasmine's
Steel Type gym. The light from this port can be seen all the way across the ocean toward Cianwood.
30 - Cianwood City: Home to Chuck's
Combat Type gym and a Pokémon Pharmacy.
31-34 :
The Whirl Islands
35- Eggseter: Origin of the Pokémon Ride Race, where a trainer
is pulled along on a board by their Pokémon while carrying a dummy Pokémon egg to the finish line.
Its origins lie in the times before vehicles, where Pokémon were used to carry
other sick Pokémon and humans to places where they could be treated. It is the
most popular sport in the town, and due to its risks and uneven terrain, has
also earned the name 'Extreme Pokémon'.

Meteo: An isolated
Templian
location whose surrounding inhabitants relied heavily on the predictions of the
Xatu that live there. This resulted in the people planning their entire daily
activities around the Xatu, as well as giving them their possessions. Meteo was
swamped with floodwater a few years ago.
37- Prism Town: Home to Professor Jonathan Schuyler's rare Pokémon study centre and the Jyngu Hot Spring. Rumour has it that the water from his spring has incredible rejuvenating properties.
It is theorised that Jyngu receives these properties from the southern Condiu Lake.
38- Mahogany Town: Home to Pryce's Ice Pokémon Gym.
39- Chaltz Town: Home to a popstar called Chihiro.

42- Blackthorn City: Home to Clair's
Light Pokémon Gym.
43- Arborville: Curiously enough, this village is situated in the sturdy branches of the tall trees of Arbor Forest.
44- Len Town: This location is thought to be one of the few places where Psychic Cho'moken wielders have gathered in number. Many psychic Pokémon also live alongside them.
45- Millennium City: The largest urban location in Johto, Millennium City was the first of its kind to be constructed in the region. It features sprawling parkland, skyscrapers and a plethora of Pokémon
inhabitants - both
Enlightened and otherwise.
46- Marion Town: A location founded by Grass Cho'moken wielders, Marion Town became overthrown by manmade structures over time. Following an intervention by a Celebi, the town regained its connection with nature.
47- Waihuwy Island: A small Pokémon preserve off the coast of north Johto.
Other Locations
A - New Bark Stadium: In the wintertime, when the grounds aren't being used for baseball, locals pull their resources together to showcase movies there.
B - Hallu Forest: Hallu Forest is full of ghost Pokémon that enjoy confusing the humans that travel through their territory by causing them to see illusions. The only way a human can successfully venture through here is with the aid of a
Pokemon with Foresight. A woman called Hagatha lives in the forest and makes a living by renting out Hoothoot to passing travellers.
B - Blue Moon Falls: Quagsire come here every year to throw round objects up this waterfall. It is thought that this ritual mimics the Sinnohan folk tale about Pokemon life cycles.
D - Charisific Valley: A reserve populated entirely by Charizards,
where they live and train together.
E - Breeze Fields: This area of Johto is prone to strong winds which can often cause havoc for the Hoppip that live there. As a result, people are employed to keep them in containment until particularly bad weather dies down.
F - Jumo Meadow: Some of the greenest pastures used for Mareep, the finest wool is harvested here.
G - Muromasa Training School: Owned by Mr. Muromasa who has a Scizor so fast it has been nicknamed 'The Crimson Streak'.
H - Slowpoke Well: This underground reserve is full of Slowpoke, which are considered to be sacred for their rain-bringing ability
by
Azalea's
Townspeople.
I - Ilex Forest: No Further Information Currently Available.
J - Wooper Nursery: A girl called Alicia runs this small place for raising Wooper.
K - Onix Tunnel: Said to be dug by the Onix that live in the nearby caves, this tunnel provides a useful shortcut to Goldenrod City.
L - Milton's Dairy: Whitney's uncle runs this well established franchise, making the best dairy products in Johto.
M - National Park: Bug catching contests are held here frequently for young Pokémon trainers and trainer wannabes.
N - The Ruins of Alph: Said to have once been part of Alpha Ricchu, a city of the lost civilisation of
Pokémopolis, this location attractions both archaeologists and tourists alike.
O - Dr. Anna's Chiropractic Clinic: Set up in the locale of one of the patients of the clinic, Dr. Anna helps to ease all the aches and pains that even durable
Ocians suffer from. She often receives people from the nearby Pokémon Dojo.
P - Kenzo's Pokémon Dojo: No Further Information Currently Available.
Q - Old Man Shuckle's House: This man has a talent for making all sorts of formulas from different fermented berries found in Shuckle Shells.
R - PokeNinjitsu Dojo: Where people face their fears and learn the ways of Ninja.
S - Mt. Quena: The highest mountain in Johto was once said to have contained an untainted healing spring at its peak which drew its contents directly from the purest source in Oci. The spring has since then mysteriously vanished, leaving nothing but a monstrous desolate crater. Since Purity River has continued to flow, however, Luna Carson (studier of natural resources and owner of a trainer rest stop) is certain that the spring fuelling it is simply out of sight, not gone for good.
T - Remoraid Mountain: Mysterious lights show up around this mountain every 12 years as the Remoraid from the lake under the mountain
arrive to form a pillar of ice which consequently melts, cleansing the desert landscape. A farming community called the Remoradians were once said to have lived in this previously green and luscious area, which was decimated by the loss of too many trees.
Purity River was thought to have once flowed through this area, but ceased inexplicably.
U - Sunflora Lodge: The south slope near this lodge owned by Sophia and Marcello Albina stays warm even in winter, drawing Sunflora to rest here every year.
V - Snowtop Mountain: Sightings of an Articuno have been frequent at this location as of late.
W - Tugo Ruins: Two ancient items were recently discovered here, thought to belong to a masterful woman who used them to control any Pokémon,
regardless of trainer.
X - Professor Sutari's Mansion: Home to Temaku Sutari.
Y - Power Plant: Takes energy from the nearby wind turbines.
Z - Johto Airfield: Mostly specialising in blimp flights for the more wealthy Ocians.
AA - Water Pokémon Centre: The nurse Joy family line here have said to specialise in water Pokémon care for generations. The latest owner of the centre, however, doesn't enjoy this fact one bit due to bad childhood experiences with water Pokémon.
BB - Oasis: This hidden piece of paradise amongst a harsh desert is guarded by a very motherly Miltank who is happy to help both Pokémon and humans in need.
CC - Cragside Mansion: Around two hundred years ago a man called Frederick Crag lived in this building. Some
believe him to be an ancestor of Pewter City's Harrison family. He was considerably wealthy, having a decent share in the mining industry of the time, but despite his riches, he was far from happy. One day he left everything behind to try and find a better purpose in life.
DD - Lake Rage: Thus named due to its abundance of Magikarp and that they choose this particular location to evolve into Gyarados.
EE - Condiu Lake : A strange crystal sits at the bottom of this lake, charging it with a mysterious rejuvenating energy. This energy only appears to work on electric Pokémon.
FF - Yadon Temple :The inhabitants of this temple are caretakers and students of Slowpoke and its evolutions - in turn hoping to learn more of the mystery behind this Pokémon's Enlightenment as a result of contact with Shellder.
GG - Coastline Gym : Run by Dorien, this water Pokémon gym is one of the only ones to have an underwater battlefield.
HH - Lake of Light : People say if you
remain at this location for long enough, you might catch a glimpse of Celebi, because
the Lake of Light appears to be one of their favourite resting places.
