Pokémon Master was a common term for
describing
Cho'moken-wielding Pokémon Trainers - used primarily
during the
Pokémopolitan era. These types of trainers were often considered
masters in the field, as their abilities granted them a far closer bond
with the Pokémon they befriended. Before
Capture Devices of any sort were created, Pokémon Masters were also
the only people who could fully tame Pokémon -through the use of
Linking-
and were therefore highly revered by others.
The term 'Master' has persisted in the
Ocian
language in reference to trainers up into recent years, but it is
generally frowned upon by the Pokémon League as it perpetuates an attitude
of enslavement, as opposed to the more cooperative relationship that they
endorse. |
