Generation Rite
is the term given to a unique ceremony performed in order to make contact with
the Original One. During this period of connection, new pokémon species emerge upon different parts of
Oci - always near large bodies of water. These new pokémon species are inspired by the thoughts, wishes, dreams and even fears of the contributors to the Generation Rite.
Procedure
In order to perform a Generation Rite, seven
Nexi are required. Each Nexus travels to their region's Constituent - a sacred location that bears a strong
Aura link with similar Constituents across the world. As the Nexi tap into this link, six of them lend their differing elemental energies toward the Ahnloka in order to create a perfect balance. The Ahnloka then uses this combined power to open a channel into a specific area of
Ultraspace.
Despite speculation, it is fatal for a being to pass into any levels of
Ultraspace using this method.
History
It is not possible to perform a Generation Rite at any given time, therefore only four have occurred to date - three of these followed heavy conflict.
Generation Rites were assigned shortly after
the Original One manifested the first 83 pokémon species. Thereafter,
Cho'moken-bearing individuals from every
elemental branch of the
Ancient Colossal Tree Tribe were called upon to lend their imaginations in the creation of new pokémon. This would allow equality and creativity for all, and ensure no tribe felt neglected.
Following
The
Corruption, Generation Rites have also been used during periods in history where the
link between the Original One's realm and Oci is at its strongest. During these times, Cho'moken wielders petitioned the being to assist them in times of distress so great, that the
Guardian Pokémon were incapable of quelling it.
Because new pokémon would always be seen following these rites, people of ancient times saw their appearance as a symbol of peace restored.
